Naoya Inoue announces move to featherweight, negotiations with Jesse Rodriguez stalled
Naoya Inoue (33-0), undisputed super-bantamweight champion, announced on social media he will no longer wait for Jesse Rodriguez and will prepare to fight at featherweight. Inoue's promoter, Hideyuki Ohashi, ruled out a fight in April or May. Rodriguez's team maintains an early spring super-fight is still achievable, but Inoue has not informed them of revised plans.
Independent sources report positions from both teams and negotiation difficulties, while Italian press focuses on Inoue's announcement without detailing Rodriguez camp's response.
