Jaime Munguia faces Nikita Zon instead of WBA mandatory challenger Bektemir Melikuziev

WBA super middleweight champion Jaime Munguia has not complied with the mandatory defense order against Bektemir Melikuziev. Munguia will instead face Nikita Zon in the Mexico vs Rest of the World event. The WBA had ordered the bout with Melikuziev, who has been owed a title shot since May.

Sources differ on the WBA's position: one reports Munguia ignored the organization's decision, the other that the WBA claims it did not approve the Zon bout.
