Brandon Figueroa loses WBA featherweight title for missing weight, Tomoki Kameda fight canceled
Brandon Figueroa missed weight on October 16 in Las Vegas and lost his WBA featherweight title before his defense against Tomoki Kameda. Sources differ on the amount of excess weight (from 0.635 kg to 3.6 kg). The fight, scheduled for October 17, was canceled after Figueroa fell ill.
US sources cite a hamstring injury as the reason for missing weight, while European sources do not mention this explanation.
